NEWS! I have a new magical middle-grade series publishing soon with the wonderful Nosy Crow! The first book, The Trouble with Magic, will be available in September 2026. Here’s a little of what to expect:

When Fray Mantel’s hidden magic is revealed, he is forced back to Hexton, the extraordinary town from which his family were banished.

Any hopes of a warm welcome are crushed when Fray learns his very name is a curse and the Mantels are blamed for destroying the magic he’d hoped to be part of.

Fray must find a way to restore the Hexton’s magic, no matter how difficult, or the trouble it brings. But with so many against him, and so much interest in the mysterious Mantel Croxometer, he finds himself in constant danger.

Facing trouble at every step, and having lived in the shadows for so long, it’s hard for Fray to come into the light. Will he be able to live up to his legacy while also finding the place where he belongs?
